Sod Laying

How early in the season can you lay sod? What should be the soil temp? How soon can dogs/kids be on the sod?

The soil temperature needs to be above 55 degrees F. for sod to take hold well. Spring is normally when this happens. While you can walk on sod after it has been rolled, you don’t want to walk on it too much. Since kids and dogs tend to be rough on a yard, you will want to keep them from doing too much on the sod for at least a week, two weeks is better if you can.
