Q.Snapped Branch on Yucca Plant

Anonymous added on March 27, 2014 | Answered

I have a 15 year old yucca plant. The bark from the pot splits into 2 thick branches. Unfortunately, I just got home to find that our cat must of jumped up and has snapped one of the branches, which was just hanging and now snapped off altogether. Do you have any tips on how to care for the remaining plant itself and if there’s any option I have to save the large snapped off branch? Thank you.

The remaining plant should be fine can callus up where broken. That said, I would keep an eye out for possible pest or fungal attacks, which can be treated it with neem oil. As for the broken off piece, you have the option of propagating cuttings from it to make another plant. Here is more information on that: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/yucca/propagation-of-yucca-plant.htm
