snails on my crepe myrtle

I have snails on my crepe myrtle. Are these harmful and, if so, what can I do to control them? Thank you.

Yes, snails can do some harm to the tree by feeding on the leaves, or worse, by getting into other areas of the garden and having themselves a feeding frenzy. It is best to get rid of them.
