Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have an outdoor gardenia, which is doing great, but it gets smooty mold on its leaves. I spray it with a soapy mixure and water. It dries up the mold and it blows off; but what I was wondering is if there is anything I can spray it with to prevent this stuff from gathering on the plant to start with?

I like neem oil. It is effective for both fungi, like sooty mold, and common pests, so you get a two fold benefit. This article will explain more:
