Q.small rock mulch

Zone 24540 | jenniewstn2 added on May 24, 2017 | Answered

We have small rock mulch in our front flower beds. I have redone the beds with compose cow mature and peat moss, I have installed new landscaping paper to keep the weeds out of the bed, I purchase five scrubs for the bed. My question is how can I use the rock mulch combined with rubber mulch to add color and style to my bed.

I have seen some beautiful beds that have wood mulch in areas and rock mulch in other spots, the two are usually separated by bricks or large stones so they don't run together and each stand out on their own because of the edging between them. Neither rock or rubber mulch is all that great for the plants themselves because they both heat up in the sun so much and add no nutrients to the soil. Below are some links about mulch.
