Q.Small Fruit, Large Top

My plant has produced a fruit but it has remained very small but its top is very large. Will the fruit grow to be proportionate?

Once it flowers, it can take up to seven months for the pineapple to grow to harvest stage. If it has been that long, I would suspect something is amiss. Check your pineapple's growing conditions against these tips:
