Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have what is supposed to be a young Hass avocado. This summer it produced eight or nine small, smooth, black fruits. By small, I mean about one-quarter to one-third the size of a regular avocado. We tried to leave them alone until they got larger, but they all fell from the tree and never got to the size or outside texture we recognize as Hass avocados. Is there something wrong with this tree?

If this is the only avocado that you have, and there are no others around, then this will be the issue. They will need another of a different flowering type in order to produce fruit.
If there are others nearby, then it may be that the tree is too young, or there is too much nitrogen/not enough phosphorus and potassium in the soil.
