Small Black Flies

Question

Hi all sometime back some of my houseplants, not all became infested with small black flies and I eventually had to get rid of the plants, even though they were ok. I currently have no further infestations that I am aware of, but have noticed a few around my Peace Lily. Any suggestions please? The flies are in the soil. Many thanks. Kind Regards.
