Silver Dollar Gum Cineras

I bought an 18 ft Silver Dollar tree two years ago. Grew well first year. Last winter it died off, or at least I thought. Now 20 very healthy branches are sprouting from the bottom. Should I trim them back to get just a few healthy ones to grow and provide shade? Can I cut some of them off and start new trees by placing the cuttings in either water or good soil?

You can do either, although selecting a few of the suckers (those sprouts at the bottom) and encouraging them will get you faster results in terms of a full size tree again. This article will help you with starting cuttings if you decide to go that route:
