Shrub Shade

Hi! i would like to grow a shrub with, either variegated leaves or white flowers in a shady secluded area of my garden (at end of the terraced house garden) i was thinking of white anemone or laced cup hydrengea … would they do well under shade? if so which of them? if not, what plant do you recommend? thank you so much!!!
