Q.Should I Repot My Curly Sue
I have a Curly Sue that I have grown from one tiny leaf! I love her so much. She has grown so well. I believe she is root bound in her current pot but I have noticed that when I water it is not draining as well. Also on just a couple of her leaves the tips have a little yellowing. I checked and the soil seems so compacted I am wondering if I should repot or would that disturb the balance? I just so desperately want her to thrive.

Has your plant produced any blooms? The article below says to wait about 7 years to repot or after blooming. You can look at the bottom of the container to see if roots are coming out of the drainage holes. If so, it is definitely time to repot. Yours does not have any roots at the surface and the plant is not that large, yet. Try adding some perlite to the top of the soil. You can scratch it in a little bit if the roots are not right at the top. Or the perlite will eventually work its way down when you water. It should help with drainage and compaction.
The biggest threat is overwatering, so make sure the soil is never saturated or the pot is sitting in water. Usually if a plant is rootbound, the water races through quickly.
Also check the light. These are understory plants so they only need dappled shade or at most, morning sun. Here is more:
