should I prune my hibiscus plant?

It is about 5 feet tall and 2 years old. I had it inside over winter and now outside. It lost a lot of leaves due to a bad wind. Now it is getting new leaves and has 1 bloom 🙂 My husband thinks it will do better if I prune it down a little. Should I???
