Q.Should I Prune A One Year Old Lemon From Cutting?

I have a one year old lemon tree grown from a cutting. It is just one stem with leaves. Should i prune its tip to encourage branching, and if fo when? I live in Chicago, IL Zone 5

Since you are going to be keeping this in container, You can prune any time you feel that you need to shorten it. This will create branching.
