Should I Deadhead My Hydrangeas

Someone told my daughter-in-law that if you deadhead a hydrangea, it will not bloom the next year. Is that true or not?

No, you do not need to deadhead it. It will be fine without doing this, but you can remove the spent blooms without harming the plant if you would like.
