Q.Should I Cover Winter Vegetables That I’ve Just Sown

Zone Limerick, Ireland | Germc added on September 19, 2020 | Answered

I’ve recently sown Cabbage, broccoli and late lettuce – they seem to be ok at the moment but I’m wondering if I need to cover them- all are sown in raised beds- also was wondering if I’ve sown them too early? Thanks

Since your zone would be the equivalent of our subtropical to temperate zone here in the US, it will not be necessary to protect them from the cold. It will not get cold enough to harm cold season crops. It would, likely, do more damage than good to cover them.
