I'm in zone 7. {'m also wondering how well they will do in the ground, for winter?

Many varieties will be well suited for this zone. If you got your variety from a place within this zone, then it is very likely that it will be hardy. If this is the first year that you have had this, then it may be wise to winter it in your greenhouse this year, then plant it out next year.
