blocking out sun

Should I block the sun from shining on an over fertilized plant? I over fertilized my garden with a self made compost. I flooded the soil with water. Should I also block the direct sun light from shining on the plants?

If the temperatures are super high and the plants get a lot of direct sunlight, then yes, it’s probably a good idea to provide some temporary partial shade.
