Q.Sego Palms

Zone 77523 | Cynthia Zeglin added on March 26, 2018 | Answered

We had to vut back all of the limbs on a massive Sego palm bush from a freeze. (Was like this when bought house). There are massive small ones. How do we remove them so we only have two or three of the largest? I dont want to kill the big one.

If you want to remove the dead shoots, you can, as long as there are some younger ones to replace it still alive. Just trim back to the number that you want, and make sure to wipe the area with peroxide after the cut, so that they do not get an infection.
