Q.Sego Palm

Zone Laporte, Tx. 77571 | mikecasto69@gmail.com added on April 3, 2018 | Answered

I’ve read the articles on not cutting any green fronds but mine are green, brown, and yellow all on the same branch. I noticed a new horn coming up the middle of the Sego. Can I go ahead and trim everything except the new horn? My Sego looks tacky.

Do not trim anything with any green on it. Leaving this to die naturally will pull vital nutrients back in from those leaves into the main plant. Taking these off will do much more harm than good. It is best to only cut off anything that is completely dead. Otherwise, doing this will leave you with a dead plant very shortly.
