seedless blackberries

I have been growing the blackberries for about 20 years. Several years ago I noticed their growth pattern changing. Branches becoming longer, some of the fruit with dry seeds. This year they grew extremely vigorous, and most of the fruit either did not set, turned brown, or so many seeds that were brown they were not good to eat. I found on your site that they had a disease and needed to be completely torn out. Is this so , and can I replant in the same place?

This does seem like a fungal disease. You must first get rid of the disease before you can replant in that area, or they will just keep passing the disease on. Here is an article that will help: http://oksusag.okstate.edu/uploaded_files/SmithBlackberriesDisease.pdf ^[1]
