I was reading your posting about saving potatoes for seed, and there was a sentence: "Three to four weeks prior to planting, put the potatoes in an area of normal environmental conditions." What is "normal environmental conditions"? Is that in the garage where the temperature would be very similar to the outside? Please advise. Thank you! Fyi- I remember cutting the potatoes (dividing the eyes) as well as plantnig them when I was very young, yet was not involved in storing them and/or prepping them for planting. Much appreciated. Yes, a garage would work for this. Basically, you want to get the seed potatoes use to the environment they will be in and get them to start chitting (sprouting).
