Scales on Hibiscus

Question

I just received a Hibiscus plant for Mother’s Day! My daughter-in-law bought them for years. She always got scales on hers and, after trying all kinds of sprays, ended up throwing them away because nothing worked! Is there anything thing I can do to keep from getting them?

We recommend treating these kinds of pest with neem oil. It is safe for humans and animals but is very effective against most destructive plant pests.
