Q.Scale On 40 Year Old Eunonymus.

I just noticed my eunonymus had lost a lot of leaves. I thought it was the dry conditions, but noticed what looks like white powder on leaves and bark. I believe this is scale. I have sprayed with a water/soap mix for now but what would you recommend for more effective treatment, that isn’t harmful to other insects if possible Many thanks.

It does look like euonymus scale. Neem oil or horticultural oil is usually effective. If you catch them at the crawler stage, insecticidal soap should help. Here is more:
