Q.Sago Palm indoor
Do I need to trim this plant at any time? I ask this because I have lots of new growth, but each stem is very long and hasn’t produced or grown the long prickly leaves yet? How long will they grow, because they are twice as long as the bottom row of stems?
I do not recommend pruning these, actually. This can cause more damage than it is worth. I advise, first, finding out what is the underlying cause for the problem. If you are not seeing any signs of deficiency then you can continue to let them grow, and they can outgrow this funny looking stage. The most common deficiency of these would be a manganese deficiency, so if you suspect that this is the problem, then this article will give you more information on correcting this: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/sago-palm/prune-sago-palm.htm
