Saving Tulips

I was lucky enough to inherit a garbage bag full of tulips/bulbs still attached that were pulled out of the gardens around my job.

I am unsure as to how to proceed because I have read that the leaves need to stay on until they wither and can be pulled off. Then I need to store them in a cool, dry place until I can plant them in the fall for next spring. How do I proceed if they have already been pulled out of the ground leaves attached?

What a great gift!
Yes, ideally the bulbs should have been allowed to stay in the ground and the leaves die off naturally,
In this case though you will need to store the bulbs, the links below will help you with this.
Then go ahead and plant out this fall in the garden.
Your new bulbs may take a couple of years to began blooming.
