Q.Sapote Fruit – Small

Zone Brisbane, Queensland, Australia | janfran added on December 5, 2024 | Answered

I have a Sapote tree which has produced what I would call normal sized fruit previously. This year the crop is very small – see the photo. Just curious to know if anyone can give me any clues as to why this has occurred.

This can happen when there is a lack of phosphorous and potassium in the soil. If it isn't fertilized, then doing so may help. The best thing to do will be to test your soil. This way, you can find out what your soil needs, exactly. Then you can fix the soil according to the test.
