Sand Tipped on Lawn

Question

I recently pumped my well. Unfortunately, not knowing too much about it, I pumped the water over my lawn. As the pumped water had a lot of sand [A LOT], this means that there’s a good inch and a half thickness of sand over a large part of the lawn. Can anyone advise me what the next essential things have to be done, and what are the following things that have to be tackled?

The only answer I can think of is to rake it and try to thin out the depth.
