Salt type for killing weeds?

Does any type of salt work for getting rid of weeds? How much should I add to a gallon of water? Thanks!

All salts in high concentration are extremely toxic to plants. Just be aware that this will remain in the soil for some time as well. Boiling water will kill weeds if it's not a large area.
