Q.Salix Schwerinii Use
Hi, Its been 3 years i am into willow growing. But i just bought salix schwerinii and cant understand can it be suitable for willow living constructions, fences, living treess, basketry or dry fences? How to use it better? I know it is a fast growing variety but is it rusky to make luving constructions from it, wont in 5-10 years they will be thick and ugly? Regards from Russia.

The wood is thin and flexible and can be used for basket making. For stronger basket poles, wait two years to cut back the plants. It is also used for furniture making. If you don't ever cut it back, it could get out of hand.
The issue with willows is their roots tend to seek water and can wreak havoc on plumbing pipes.
