I have just purchased 4 in pots. They are about 4 ft tall in small pots. Can I repot them to larger pots or plant into garden, and can it be done now? Which compost should I use? Thanks.

I would go ahead and plant directly into the garden.
If you need to amend the soil any compost will work for this.
