Q.scale on sagos

Anonymous added on November 25, 2014 | Answered

Scale on the sagos is a real issue. I have tried malathion oil, but I often cut the leaves off because the oil seems to take way too long and the scale seems to thrive way too fast. The local nursery selling the oil is no longer in business so I am in need of a another remedy not only because the nursery is gone, but because this method seems to have a slow solution to the problem. Do I need to spray the palm every two weeks with something to keep it from getting scale? Maybe it is time to replace this 15 yer old plant.
