Q.Sago Palms

Anonymous added on May 7, 2014 | Answered

I have a big Sago Palm with a cone in the middle of it. Someone told me to take the cone off, and someone else told me to leave it alone. I’m not sure what to do with it. Will it hurt the Sago if I leave the cone alone? Thank you.

If it is a female, I would not remove the flower, as this can hurt the plant. If it is male, you can remove it. You also have the option of leaving it as is and will not harm the plant either way.
