Sago Palms

We have two large eight year old sagos in our front yard in Houston. I want to cut them off at the ground level and let them grow back, as they have gotten too large. Is this possible?

This probably would not be a good idea. Sagos usually don’t take that well to pruning, especially if it’s drastic. It is hard to say how well it will grow back, if at all. In addition, the fronds will help protect the plant over winter, so I would put off any pruning until spring.
