Q.Sago palm shoots

Zone Indoor. | Anonymous added on August 9, 2017 | Answered

My sago palm has grown two very long shoots very quickly. See attached photos. The regular ‘fronds’ (quoted as I gather this isn’t actually a palm) measure about 30cm, and the shoots 70cm. I would say about 30cm of these shoots have grown in the last 10 days alone. You can also see that the leaves are a bit different. What on earth do I have here?

Your email did not contain an attachment with images.

It sounds as if you Sago Palm has produced 'pups'. These can be removed and propagated into new plants.
