Sago Palm Pups

My Sago palm is putting out about 10 pups right now. Do I cut them out for the sake of the main Sago, or should I remove them? I’m not really interested in starting any new ones right now. The main Sago is approx. 5′ tall, growing perfectly straight up, and is healthy and beautiful. If I let the pups keep growing where they are, will they cause the main plant to grow crooked? I really don’t want to hurt the main Sago.

It would probably take a long time, but if the pups continue to grow, there’s a chance they could affect the growth of the parent plant, and removing them – if done properly – won’t do any harm.
