Q.Sago Palm
My Sago Palm has what looks like roots at the base. They are brown and dried out. Can I cut them off the plant, repot and put dry roots in the dirt? The leaves have brown tips and I’ve had to cut a couple fronds off the plant. Help!!!
If you have any winter damage, you can clean this up.
Wait until any danger of frost has based, then remove them from the palm.
Autumn is the best time to prune the palm when the palm is not producing new leaves.
Clip the lowest fronds up next to the trunk.
Remove the yellowing and brown leaves to prevent from disease or insects.
This is how you can expose the trunk of your Sago, which many people prefer.
Remove all the litter from around the palm.
