Q.sago palm

Zone 8a | derrick7 added on June 4, 2012 | Answered

Not sure of its age, about 25 inches around and 3 foot tall. In winter it gets cold enough and leaves turn brown. Trimmed all the leaves off and yellow cone appears from middle. Cone looks dried up. No new leaves have come back. What to do, help?

It sounds like it could have experienced some cold damage, which may have affected the flowering. This article may help you with getting it to recover: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/tips-for-saving-cold-damaged-plants.htm

If you are not seeing any new growth, this article will help determine if the plant is still alive: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/how-to-tell-if-a-plant-is-dead-and-how-to-recover-an-almost-dead-plant.htm
