Are sugar and vinegar safe to use on St. Augustine grass?

You could spot-treat weeds with vinegar, but I would advise against using vinegar on your entire lawn because vinegar is non-selective and would probably burn the grass. In fact, vinegar is touted as a means to kill grass naturally on our website:
