Rubber tree plant

Is it normal to grow a branch from the bottom of the trunk, and when is the dormant season?

Winter would be your Rubber Plant’s dormant period.
You can water about every 2 weeks during the winter months, then continue it’s regular watering schedule in the spring.

Your plant could certainly sent up another branch.
