Q.Rosemary plant

Zone 5 | udagsd added on September 6, 2012 | Answered

Help to transplant a rosemary plant from purchased pot to small planter. I purchased a Rosemary plant. It is root bound. Can I pull the roots away from the root ball?  And maybe cut the root ball so it fits in my planter?

Thanks
Pat

Yes, you can. This is called root pruning and is a common practice with root bound plants. When you repot the plant, make sure the container drains well and choose a pot about 1-2 sizes up from the one i is currently growing in.
