If you are leaving them in the containers over winter, be sure their planting zone is at least 2 lower than yours. For example, your USDA hardiness zone is 7b, so the tags that came with your roses should indicate hardiness zones of at least 5. The roots of your roses in a container will not be as protected as they would be in the ground. If you don't have at least 2 hardiness zones as a buffer, you can bring your roses into the garage for winter.
