rose plants

Hi,

I planted 3 roses but after few days i saw their leaves has been eaten and the stems are empty. I sprayed the bug spray from hom edepot but no result and now the roses are dying in 2 days or they are turning into brown colour. I planed red rose, yelloe, and peach color roses.

Please advise how should i take care of them.

Regards

SH.

It sounds like you may have purchased some roses that were either in those plastic bags or some that may have been in the pots too long. Also the bugs that ate all the leaves must have been a major attack! If the insect spray had no effect, perhaps your problem is deer or elk in your area eating the foliage but usually they will eat the canes down some too. If there is still some foliage and some green canes there is still hope. I would apply some Bayer Tree and Shrub granules around the base of the rose as directed on the label for ornamental shrubs. Work the granules into the soils lightly. Water the rosebushes well with some water that has both a product called Super Thrive and a root stimulator product mixed into the same water. Water the rosebushes with a fresh batch of such water mix the next 5 to 6 times they need watering. Hopefully this will bring them out of the shock and stress they are currently under.
