Q.Rose Leaf Infestation

Anonymous added on May 6, 2012 | Answered

Can you tell me what’s attacking the rose leaves? So far the roses are alright. But most of my bushes have this problem. Located in San Francisco, CA where we have had unusually frosty weather at times, but this looks like something else to me – though I’m an ignorant gardener!

I do not see a photo to be able to see what the problem is. If the edges of the leaves are brown and crispy it could be damage from the frost. You can also turn the leaves over and look at the underside and use a magnifying glass. Some of the bugs can be very small. If you do see spider mites or some other small bugs, it may be time to use an insecticide on them. Just really not sure without a photo to look at.....
