Q.Rose Bush With Two Types Of Flowers
Hi, Today I noticed that my rose bush that normally has red roses has a branch with 3 flowers that are white and don’t look like Roses, Have you any explanation? Please. Thank you Best regards Paul

Hi Paul. It could be that your red rosebush is a Grafted rose. Meaning that the top part is your desired rose, the bottom is a hardy root stock rose. Sometimes the hardy root stock rose gets a bit over zealous and sends up its own shoots with totally different blooms. Or it could be some past roses root stock is sending up shoots as it tries to survive. Could have been there long before the red rosebush. Usually the best thing to do is to prune out the rose canes you do not want there all the way down into the ground. You will likely have to keep doing this for a while to discourage the new shoots it sends up. Otherwise it will rob nutrients from the red rosebush and could lead to its demise.
