Q.Rose Bush

Zone Middlesex | dsinte added on June 24, 2015 | Answered

My white roses have turned pink and the leaves have gone yellow and limp. They look more like dog roses now. Do I need to dig it up or can it be saved? Could it have been pruned back too hard? It was such a lovely bush.

Hmmmm... Sounds like a grafted and rose and the top part of the rosebush, the desired part, has died over winter. The hardy root stock it was grafted to is now taking over. I would dig it out and get either the same rosebushes you had before or try something new. Here is a link to my article on grafted rosebushes: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/own-root-roses-grafted-roses.htm
