how and when do you move a mature rose bush?

The ideal time to transplant a rose is late in the dormant season prior to spring pruning time. It is much less stressful to the plant. It can be done in summer, if necessary but requires diligent follow up. I found this article on transplanting in the summer. http://www.ncnhdistrict.org/aom/myths.html ^[1]
