Roots On Scion Fix & Effects

I recently purchased a Meyer lemon tree (bush form) from a nursery. I noticed that it had been planted too deeply with the graft below the soil line and the scion had started to grow roots. I repotted (will keep in container) to elevate the graft above the soil line and trimmed off the roots that had grown above the graft. The tree is 18″ tall. Since the repotting & trimming about a week ago, it has shown healthy vigorous growth. Will there be any long term impact to the tree size or fruit due to its having already had roots growing from the scion?

It doesn't sound like it. I think you handled the situation beautifully.
