Q.Roots Growing Out Of Top Of Plumeria Pot
The roots of my plumeria are growing out of the top of the pot. I have not been able to find a big enough pot yet to transplant it. The pot fell over and part of it broke off. The roots are now exposed on the side of the pot. What can I do?

The best pots for plumaria, according to the plumaria society, are black nursery pots. You don't need anything fancy. And it should be only one size larger than the existing pot. If you don't have one or know someone who does (do any of your friends buy a lot of plants and keep the pots?) they don't cost too much at the garden centers. They have a lot of holes in the bottom, much more than an expensive pot.
Anyway, till you can get a pot for it (and well draining potting soil) the roots need to be covered so they don't dry out. You can put some soil and mulch on top and soil on the side to get it covered. You can wrap some plastic (trash bag?) around the sides of the pot to hold the soil over the broken side. Get this done as quickly as possible so the roots don't suffer.
Another thought: If you are in Florida hardiness zones 9-11, you can plant the Plumeria in the ground and leave it. If not, another alternative is to go ahead and plant pot and all in the ground till you get a new pot and are ready to move it inside for winter.
