rooting jade plants

I thought my jade plant was dead because it was leaning over, so I dumped it. Learned how to root the branches. Question is, should I trim leaves close to base of branch? If so, do I need to apply the rooting hormone to the cut at the base as well as where the leaves are cut? Otherwise, the leaves will be under the soil. Thank you.

Yes, trim off the leaves. Whenever you attempt to root a cutting of anything, the leaves at the base of the cutting are always removed. Leave only 2 – 4 leaves at the top. These articles have more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/projects/rooting-plant-cuttings.htm [1]
