Rooting jade plant

I have a jade plant which has had fungal growth inside the plant stem. I’ve cut some stems off to grow roots. Should I keep dry and once good starts to appear put in soil pot. Not very good with plants but don’t want this plant to die ?

This kind of internal fungus usually starts at the roots and can sometimes be caused from overwatering or poor drainage. To propagate, after you cut a stem, let it air dry 2 or 3 days till the end callouses over, then plant in cactus soil.
